About

This site is a small, focused collection of daily word and logic puzzles. Rather than an endless catalogue, we keep a handful of familiar, high-quality games and polish them properly.

What Boardsmith is

Boardsmith is a small collection of daily word and logic puzzles. Every player gets the same puzzle on the same day, so when you finish one you have solved the exact grid your friends did. That shared ritual is the whole point: a few minutes of proper thinking with your morning coffee, then on with your day.

We would rather do a handful of games well than a hundred badly. Each game gets its own careful build: sensible difficulty, clean controls, and puzzles that are always solvable by logic rather than guesswork. Everything is free to play, there are no ads, and you do not need an account to start.

How it works

Fresh puzzles arrive every day, and each game offers a ladder of difficulties so there is a version for a quick warm-up and a version that will make you sit forward. Complete a day's puzzle to keep your streak alive, and clear every difficulty in a game for a clean sweep.

Your progress saves in your browser automatically. If you create a free account, your streaks and stats follow you across devices, so the puzzle you start on your phone at breakfast is waiting where you left it.

Who makes it

Boardsmith is made by me, Kieran Smith, a software developer in the United Kingdom. It is a one-person project: the puzzles, the code and the design all come from the same desk.

I built it because I wanted somewhere to play a few well-made daily puzzles without ads, popups or paywalls, and I could not find a place I liked.

Get in touch

Found a bug, spotted a puzzle that does not feel right, or have an idea for a game you would like to see here? I read everything. Email kieransmith993@gmail.com or send a message on X. Boardsmith gets better because people tell me what is broken and what is missing.

What's next

Hashiwokakero and Chess Solitaire are live with daily puzzles now. Word Ladder, Synonym Trail, Mini Sudoku, Mini Crossword and Connections are in development and will join them one at a time, each launching only once it plays properly. You can see the full line-up on the games page.
